For little over a minute and a half, I was fortunate enough to see the Great American Eclipse in totality. It was an experience both satisfyingly erie and profound. A sight that has become imbedded in mind with no sign of fleeing as yet.
As only a sliver of the sun remained, the crowd buzz crew quieter. Songbirds were no longer singing and the chirps of crickets and katydids became apparent as the sky around began to dim. It was afternoon but a twilight set in to what looked as if the sun was setting in all directions. A visual surreal and a glimpse of harmony became as both celestial and spiritual bodies aligned in a total eclipse of the Sun.
